SUPERINTENDENT MATERIALS

(INTERNAL/ INVENTORY CONTROLLER)

 

The Superintendent is responsible for the full inventory and asset management of the oily terminal.

 

TYPICAL FUNCTIONS

 

  • Takes lead on asset and inventory management from buildings, inventory, stock levels, safe storage, yard layout, stock rotation, depreciation of assets, including recording and management of these;
  • Manages non fixed and fixed asset accounting, oversees the sale of fixed and non-fixed assets, and administers the Company’s capital plan;
  • Ensures all physical stock movements are recorded in the accounting system and linked to finance at time of occurrence;
  • Project materials planning and stocking: Provides information to other departments for project planning, cost and other movements;
  • Measures and reports on supply level agreement adherence with contractors;
  • Plans and schedules the efficient management of incoming material warehousing activities;
  • Measures and reports purchasing, warehousing and asset Key Performance Indicators;
  • Supports material Inventories reporting & compliance requirements, such as on hand and projected Inventories , obsolescence , cycle counts, RID Processing;
  • Develops and maintains measurement and reporting tools to support the effective management of warehouse capacities including physical space, equipment, and resources;
  • Creates and maintains standard operating procedures and work instruction;
  • Is the referral point in regards backup support for the purchasing department;
  • Helps with the timely preparation and issuing of the yearly financial Statements.

 

 

SKILL AND EDUCATION

 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in accounting or finance from four-year accredited college or equivalent experience in comparable profession
  • 10 years of audit, accounting, and financial experience
  • extensive inventory accounting background to put in controls and processes to support the movement and accounting of inventory warehousing
  • experience in Materials and Inventory Control practices in MRP or Inventory Control IT systems
  • Knowledge of PGS standards and applicability of these standards to
  • Well-developed computer skill

  • Analytical, Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal in English, Pre Dutch and Spanish; Accurate , proactive, high ability to deal with stress; Ability and possibility to work over hours, no 7:30 AM to 16PM mentality; Team worker and strong Problem Solving Capacity; Interest in continuous quality improvement and compliance; Valid driver license;
  • Current, extensive knowledge of SAP/ QUICKBOOKS and Account view and internal control processes. Knowledge and experience with financial systems and the integration of financial information into the General Ledger. Impeccable analytical and organizational skills.
